Trust

Hear what Jamie Adams, Allen Building Centre, Castle has to say about TRUST.

To succeed in this industry you have to trust your buying group. One way Castle earns your trust is to be transparent in all our dealings with members and vendors.

"I know Castle is focused on my needs and my success. When I need answers, I can pick up the phone and call Ken Jenkins, President or James Jones, Vice President," says Castle member Jamie Adams.

Castle is equally determined to build trust with vendors. We negotiate hard on behalf of our members but at the same time we are respectful of each other. There's no strong-arming, no posturing. In return, we guarantee every purchase is paid. Since 1963 we have never defaulted on a payment to a vendor.

Trust is equally important inside Castle and it starts at the top. As president Ken Jenkins says, "We've made a deliberate attempt to deliver on what we say we will do. This has developed a strong sense of trust between the members and head office. We ask our members to lean on us when they need assistance specific to a competitive price situation, delivery or changing market conditions. If a member needs assistance, it's all hands on deck."

"There's no fine print when you join Castle. All members are treated equally. The collective knowledge of the management team and internal staff exist solely to support the ongoing needs of Castle members. Castle's member-elected Board of Directors is focused on determining company policy based on the needs of members. Can other buying groups say that? I doubt it. I trust Castle - absolutely. They've earned it. That's the way it should be with a co-op. That's the way it is at Castle."
